In this first of many featurettes we start at looking how an object gets thought up and conceptualized and then created and then finally placed into the game world for testing. So first we need an idea for the object, after some brainstorming of what item we need in this case a wooden gate, we then decide how advanced it should be we decided this one should be quite high tech for the period in which were in so its possible it has started to incorporate some pieces of metal. Armed with that knowledge our concept artist draws us this.  It gets voted on at a meeting and decided that it matches so we commission the rest of the concept to be done.  Now with the full concept drawn we pass it to the modelling team to create it as low poly as possible but still with enough character and charisma to make it suit our gameworld.  Now it gets passed down the line to the texture artists to add there unique stylings to the model, and then it can be imported into the game world.  we now see the process it takes from an idea in a meeting to the finished ingame article passing through at least 4 different sections of our team. hope you liked this little featurette and will consider more of them at a later date.

Good stuff! What exactly does making it less poly do? I'm guessing it makes the graphics a little easier on computers?

Good stuff! What exactly does making it less poly do? I'm guessing it makes the graphics a little easier on computers?

Correct, lowers the load time and stress on the computers.

Correct, lowers the load time and stress on the computers.

the more poly's you have on screen the more work the graphics card has to do, the more work it does the slower the fps. so if we show a cube with only 12 poly's it can show at like 6000 fps if we do say 5000 of those same 12 poly cubes it would be say 2000fps so the aim is to reduce poly's as much as possible so that people who enjoy 60+ fps don't moan, although most people will quite happily watch a 25 fps tv screen without moaning but computer gamers seem to be a fickle bunch. if only they realized the less moaning about the graphics fps they do the more gorgeous the game world looks with loads of poly's

This. I want my empire to of a nudist kind. One that'll help me know what men are best suited for guard duty, and which ones need to hit the gym. Also, an Adam and Eve quest might be cool.

Adam and Eve would do it. And they'd do it by making babies. Lots of em. Or rather Cain and Able of them. Lot was later. And then Cain would kill Able. Because Cain is Able to kill. And there is Noah ther way to make an Adam and Eve Quest.

i don't wanna start a whole bible debate going but one thing has always confused me.
adam and eve were the first 2 people they had 2 sons cain and able cain then begat himself a wife.....
erm where from ???? his sister ???? eve ???? who ????

i don't wanna start a whole bible debate going but one thing has always confused me.
adam and eve were the first 2 people they had 2 sons cain and able cain then begat himself a wife.....
erm where from ???? his sister ???? eve ???? who ????
